Can I Safely Switch Back To The Mestinon?

I was prescribed Mestinon for secondary adrenal insufficiency by my neurosurgeon after brain surgery. I went to an endocrinologist who said no and put me on hydrocortisone to which I've gained eight pounds in a month and my fingers look like sausages. Can I safely switch back to the Mestinon?

I read your question carefully but I must say I am a little perplexed.

I don't see why should be Mestinon used for your condition. Mestinon is a drug indicated for patients with a disease called myasthenia gravis. I do not know of any use of it in adrenal insufficiency and knowing its mechanism of action I don't think it has any benefit.

Perhaps you have got the name of the drug wrong? Please check again the spelling and write again, me or my colleagues will remain at your disposal.
